About AFCM
HISTORY
Founded in March 5, 1977 in Bangkok, Thailand pursuant to the need to foster cooperation and coordination amongst the cement manufacturers in ASEAN and in line with the aims and objectives of ASEAN Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASEAN-CCI).
OBJECTIVES
- Promote cooperation and coordination amongst the cement producers in ASEAN.
- Initiate and encourage and coordinate the preparation and implementation of plans, programs and projects that will accelerate and harmonize the growth and progress of the cement industry in the region.
- Promote closer relation and cooperation between and amongst the cement manufacturing business communities in the ASEAN member countries and with the other regional and international organizations with similar aims and objectives.
- Serve as channel of communication for the compilation and dissemination of information of common concern, as well as provide facilities for consultation and exchange of views between and among its constituent members.
Major Thrusts
To build on the excellent work done by prior AFCM Presidents in order to have a continually vibrant, effective and responsive AFCM, the new leadership will focus on the following major thrusts during the next two (2) years:

- Environmental Enhancement
- Addressing Spiralling Fossil Fuel Costs in a Responsible Manner
- Ensuring a fair and Development-Oriented International Trade Regime for Cement
More Information Sharing Using Modern Technology
- Consultation and Information Sharing thru Teleconferencing and Videoconferencing
- Creation of Website for AFCM with Links to Web Pages of Members
- Compile and Consolidate Information Given by Members for Immediate Electronic Dissemination and Developmental Initiatives
